ART GATE strives to build a conceptual bridge between contemporary art, philosophy and the audience.
We have designed a specific pedagogic process and a set of on-site seminars/lectures/tours providing enlightening Art History / Art Theory landmarks, and establishing a fine balance between theory and practice, thinking and experiencing, edification and entertainment.
We want to break the intimidating factor impeding people from asking and/or expressing spontaneously their feelings, and encourage them to share their views in a benevolent, informal, yet conscientious atmosphere.
Art Gate strives to induce a constructive attitude consisting in embracing differences, obstacles or contradictions instead of rejecting them. Assimilating and digesting dissimilarities in a synergetic and positive way.
Most of our formal education focuses on critical thinking with en emphasis on rational analysis and single-solution problem solving.
Yet, each problem has a multitude of causes and thus a multitude of solutions. Creative thinking consists in enlarging the spectrum of solutions that one can imagine toward a particular issue, as well as toward the broader issue of life.
Art Gate focuses on striking and substantial artists and topics which generate intense discussions, raise critical questions, and stimulate a constructive thinking about art and life. ;
We take positions, even with the greatest strive for objectivity, and fiercely encourage people to state and express their positions as well.
A mutual acknowledgement of our similarities and dissimilarities, and a honest, engaged and constructive dialogue are the most prolific ways toward a greater understanding.
